· I grind a lot of tool steels and found CBN wheels are the only way to go with hard to grind steels like D2. I tend to agree with you, but at over 500 bucks for a 10"er. Yikes! Second on the CBN, but if you cant justify it, Blue Norton SG wheels 60J or K, lots of coolant, dress with a sharp diamond.
